QUALIFYING:
Tipton's Race Recap: "The team started out strong early and stayed that way for most of the race until some late race strategy worked better for the other teams and not so well for us. Brad Herman fought hard and was our best finisher with a solid 6th place. Tim Lathom was our next best finisher with a 9th place after leading 8 laps earlier in the race. Next was Rob Norfleet with an 11th place and 5 laps led. Mike Politis was next in 12th. And finally Brian McEvoy finished up the team standings with a 16th place finish. We get next week off to catch our breath. Then it's Atlanta in two weeks."
No 79 - Brian McEvoy
"Not a great night overall. Qualified P12 after car got tight coming out of turn 4. Started race and pace was very fast for the front group. Was trying to stay up in the pack as well as save my tires. Had contact on lap 6 with another car coming out of turn 2 and was relegated back to 16th place. From there I just tried to battle back towards the top 10. Was able to focus on staying in the high line and hold others down low as the tires wore out and was able to get back towards 10th. Pitted with 27 to go and tried to save my tires coming out. Thought I was doing a good job of that but clearly was not good enough. Was running 10th with about 8 to go and started to fade to those who pitted after me. Had a fun battle going in the last five laps with Rob Norfleet #56 and Timothy Latham #5. Coming out of turn for on the last lap, another competitor got loose and spun in to me. I was forced in to the grass and ended up crossing the line in P16. This will bring my playoff run to a close for this season. Congrats to Brad Herman#85 on a strong run tonight.
